Perpetuity

The story of this painting begins with me finding a broken butterfly wing on the porch of our studio, as we all know to have come and gone by. I couldn't bring myself up to let go of it and so there began my ambition of collecting them and putting them to good use and what better way than to immortalize them as art. I used the tattered half i found along with another half I'd found a while ago, to make this watercolour painting on acid free timeless paper. A lot of you who have been to the studio have probably been proudly shown the collection of dead insects we have. Alas, here we have the earthy charm of a dead but not wasted butterfly wings along with floral colours fresh and vibrant with some Turkish mandala geometry and gold leafed painting to amalgamate it.
