------------------     Zero Pain Tattoos   -------------------

Exclusively at Moths and Owls Tattoos · Mumbai

A session as calm
as

the decision.

Tattooing without pain is not a gimmick. It is a medically sound technique — available here because the artist is also a doctor. Infiltration anaesthesia. Precise, consistent, and without any compromise to your ink or your healing.

The Technique

Not a cream.
Not a spray.

A medical procedure.

Most studios offer numbing creams or sprays. These methods are inconsistent, wear off mid-session, and — critically — they alter the skin's texture and affect how ink absorbs. The result is unpredictable relief and potentially compromised line work.

What I offer is different in every way that matters.

Step 01

Consultation & mapping

Before any anaesthesia is administered, we map the exact area to be tattooed. The size, placement, and complexity of the design determines the application zone. This is done during your consultation appointment — not on the day of the tattoo.

Step 02

Infiltration anaesthesia — administered

Using a fine needle, I inject a numbing agent directly into the superficial layers of the skin — specifically the area that will be tattooed. This is infiltration anaesthesia: the same class of technique used in dental and minor surgical procedures. It creates an immediate, localised numbing effect that is consistent and does not fluctuate throughout the session.

Step 03

Tattooing begins — zero discomfort

Once the anaesthesia is active, the tattooing proceeds completely normally. The skin is in its natural state — not swollen, not altered in texture, not chemically treated. Ink absorbs exactly as it should. Lines are as precise as they would be on any other session. The only difference is that you feel nothing.

Step 04

Healing — completely unaffected

Because infiltration anaesthesia works at the skin's surface rather than through the bloodstream or topically on the epidermis, it does not interfere with the body's natural healing response. Your tattoo heals exactly as a standard fine line piece would — no additional aftercare, no extended recovery.

Zero Pain — A First in India

Because I am a certified medical professional, I could do something no other tattoo artist in India could: offer infiltration anaesthesia — precise micro-injections into the surface skin — to eliminate pain entirely throughout the session. Not numbing cream. Not a spray. A genuine, medically sound technique that works consistently and doesn't affect ink quality or healing.

The difference

Infiltration anaesthesia
vs.
numbing creams.

NUMBING SCREAMS & SPRAYS

    Inconsistent relief

Wear off unpredictably — often mid-session, especially on longer pieces.

    Alters skin texture

Causes surface swelling and changes in skin elasticity, affecting how the needle moves through tissue.

✕    Impacts ink absorption

Chemical agents on the epidermis interfere with how ink sits in the skin — affecting colour retention and         line crispness.

    Widely available but unregulated

Anyone can apply a numbing cream. No medical qualification required — and no guarantee of                     effectiveness or safety.

Infiltration anaesthesia — The Owl

    Consistent throughout

Active from the first line to the last. No reapplication, no drop-off in effectiveness mid-session.

  No effect on skin surface

Injected into subcutaneous tissue — the skin's surface remains completely natural in texture and behaviour.

    Ink quality uncompromised

No topical agents. Ink absorbs and sets exactly as it would in any standard session — line quality and               colour retention are identical.

    Medically administered

Available only because the practitioner is a qualified dental surgeon. Safe, precise, and performed under         the same professional standards as any clinical procedure.

vs

Who it's for

Anyone who has ever
let pain be
the reason not to.

01

First-time clients

If fear of pain has been the reason you haven't yet committed — this removes that reason entirely. The consultation stays the same. The process stays the same. You simply don't feel the needle.

02

Sensitive placements

Ribs, sternum, spine, inner arm, back of knee — these are areas that even experienced clients find difficult. Infiltration anaesthesia makes these placements no different from any other.

03

Full-day sessions

Large, complex pieces require extended sessions. Sustained discomfort affects how relaxed your body is — and that affects how the work goes. A zero-pain session means the last hour is as calm as the first.

04

Those who simply want it

You don't need a medical reason or a low pain threshold to choose this. Some clients simply want the experience of being tattooed to feel meditative rather than something to endure. That is reason enough.

Custom fine line tattoo design by Esha Varpe, bespoke tattoo artist Mumbai

Safe. Medically approved.
Exclusive to The Owl.

This technique is not available at any other tattoo studio in India. That is not a marketing claim — it is a practical reality. Infiltration anaesthesia requires a qualified medical professional to administer it. I am the only tattoo artist in India who holds that qualification.

Every Zero Pain session follows the same clinical standards I was trained to in dentistry — sterile environment, proper dosage, and a practitioner who understands exactly what is happening to your tissue before, during, and after the procedure.

Important notice

Zero Pain Tattoos using infiltration anaesthesia should only be received from a certified medical professional who is legally eligible to administer injectable anaesthetic agents. Do not seek this service from any provider who is not medically qualified. Choosing an uncertified provider carries significant health risks and is not the same procedure

"I flew to Mumbai specifically for this. The zero-pain technique made the whole day feel almost meditative. I've since recommended Esha to everyone who asks about my tattoo."
